Training Programme: Participation of Minorities and Vulnerable Groups

Content:

As part of the project “A VOICE FOR ALL: A Training Module for Municipalities to Foster the Participation of Vulnerable Groups,” CVEK has developed and piloted a new training methodology for local government staff. Our goal is to build municipal capacity for the effective, inclusive engagement of diverse communities in public policymaking.

While many local authorities already use participatory approaches, minorities and vulnerable groups are still rarely included in these decision-making processes. Yet public policies can only be truly effective when everyone has a seat at the table. Our training programme directly supports municipalities in dismantling existing barriers and embedding the principles of inclusion and equity across their core responsibilities.

This intensive, full-day training module provides participants with a comprehensive overview:

  • Theory and Context: Gain a solid grounding in the core principles of minority and vulnerable group participation at the local level.

  • Practical Skills: Explore hands-on tools, real-world case studies, and concrete engagement techniques tailored to specific target groups.

  • Spotlight on Vulnerable Communities: Focus on effective outreach strategies for youth, persons with disabilities, socio-economically disadvantaged individuals, migrants, Roma communities, and seniors.

If you work in local government and are looking to systematically build your internal capacity around inclusion and public participation, we would be happy to bring this training directly to your municipality.
