CVEK

CVEK, together with several other organisations, has long drawn attention to the need for systemic solutions in the area of integration of foreigners. In the current situation, when more than 400,000 people have already arrived in Slovakia, having fled the war in Ukraine, this need becomes particularly urgent. Therefore, during the month of May, together with the Milan Šimečka Foundation and in cooperation with the Human Rights League and the organisations People in Need and Mareena, we prepared a document entitled Integration of people from Ukraine – Proposals for Solutions, in which we point out that in addition to providing humanitarian aid, it is crucial to focus on creating opportunities for integration. The aim of this document is to provide a basic framework that identifies the main bottlenecks and proposes key actions. The current situation provides a unique opportunity to set up a workable system of integration also for wider groups of foreigners and to improve services for the entire population.
